What is it used for?
Plaquenil is prescribed for the prevention and treatment of certain forms of malaria.
Plaquenil is also used to treat the symptoms of rheumatoid arthritis such as swelling, inflammation, stiffness, and joint pain. It is also prescribed for lupus erythematosus, a chronic inflammation of the connective tissue.
Contraindications and cautions:
Antimalarial compounds should be used with caution in patients with hepatic disease or alcoholism or in conjunction with known hepatotoxic drugs.
If you are sensitive to or have ever had an allergic reaction to Plaquenil or similar drugs such as Aralen and Chloroquine, you should not take Plaquenil. Make sure your doctor is aware of any drug reactions you have experienced.
Use of Plaquenil in patients with psoriasis may precipitate a severe attack of psoriasis. When used in patients with porphyria the condition may be exacerbated. The preparation should not be used in these conditions unless in the judgment of the physician the benefit to the patient outweighs the possible hazard.
Plaquenil should not be prescribed if you have suffered partial or complete loss of vision in small areas while taking Plaquenil or similar drugs. Notify your doctor of any past or present visual changes you have experienced.
Side effects:
Medicines and their possible side effects can affect individual people in different ways. Because a side effect is stated here, it does not mean that all people using this medicine will experience that or any side effect.
Following the administration in doses adequate for the treatment of an acute malarial attack, mild and transient headache, dizziness, and gastrointestinal complaints (diarrhea, anorexia, nausea, abdominal cramps and, on rare occasions, vomiting) may occur. Cardiomyopathy has been rarely reported with high daily dosages of hydroxychloroquine.
Please inform your doctor if you do not feel well while taking this medicine.
Interactions: Tell your doctor or pharmacist what medicines you are already taking, including those bought without a prescription and herbal medicines, before you start treatment with this medicine. If Plaquenil is taken with certain other drugs, the effects of either could be increased, decreased, or altered. It is especially important to check with your doctor before combining Plaquenil with the following:
Any medication that may cause liver damage
Aurothioglucose (Solganal)
Cimetidine (Tagamet)
Digoxin (Lanoxin)

Why do you have such cheap branded medecines?
We keep low prices because we buy our medecines in the countries, which have a low drug tax, however all medicines are produced by original manufactures. Another reason of low prices is purchasing of the drugs in association with a large group of partners in bulk quantity. Also we use cheaper but quality method of delivery.
Why are generic drugs cheaper than branded medicines?
Manufactureres that produce generics do not spend much money on development of a new preparation, they just need to reproduce something that was developed before. That’s why the price for generics is much more affordable. Usually generics are let to be produced only when the original medication is being sold in the market for several years.
Is Generic the exact copy of the original?
If we study the chemical composition of the generic and the original, we’ll find out that in reality they are not identical (dublicates). They have similar “therapeutic core” but additional ingredients can differ either in quantitative or qualitative composition. Anyway it doesn’t influence on the effect.
